Contests are a great way for brands to partner with fashion bloggers in an effort to engage with consumers. Here’s an example of a recent example on Fashables.com.
On April 29, 2011 Fashables did a giveaway for a $125 Banana Republic gift card (link to contest post). The contest used Twitter as the primary point of entry as readers had to tweet the following,
[quote]“@Fashables is giving away a $125 @BananaRepublic gift card today. Details here, http://bit.ly/iienaM. RT to enter.”[/quote]
After sending a tweet as their entry, participants had the opportunity to receive a second entry by subscribing to the Fashables.com email newsletter.
The Results
For a site that was only four months old and a promotion that only lasted one day, the results were fantastic!

This was a one day contest for a $125 gift card; imagine what we could do together on a larger scale.
